Gregory Rand Simpson
Gregory Rand Simpson, Ph.D., C.Psych is a registered child and adolescent clinical psychologist (CPBAO) with extensive experience in both therapy and psychological assessment. In private practice, Dr. Simpson specializes in working with children, teenagers, and families, providing compassionate, evidence-based care for a wide range of emotional, behavioral, and developmental concerns.
He earned his Ph.D. in Psychology in 2003 from American University in Washington, DC, and Clinical Specialization at University of Miami in Miami, FL. He has advanced training in child development, psychotherapy, and diagnostic evaluation. Over the course of his career, he has developed a reputation for his thorough and insightful assessments, which help guide effective treatment planning for complex psychological and educational challenges.
Dr. Simpson’s therapeutic approach integrates cognitive-behavioral, relational, and developmental frameworks to support the well-being and growth of young people (i.e., CBT, ACT, EFFT, PCIT). He has a particular interest in anxiety, mood disorders, ADHD, learning differences, and parent-child relationship dynamics.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Simpson is a faculty member of the Clinical Child and Adolescent Psychology area of the Department of Psychology at the University of Guelph. In this primarily supervisory role, he has trained graduate students and early-career professionals in both assessment and therapy with children and adolescents for over 10 years. Prior to that he has over 10 years of experience providing clinical services and conducting clinical research.
